A variety of Sri Lankan Pali scholars worked on this, including some of the monks who later worked on the Buddha Jayanthi edition. They visited Kumari zinhala obtain a written permission for the use of the revised text, and then met with Mr. In line with his political leanings, this was made in a relatively accessible language that could be understood by those who were not experts.

Though there are several versions of Tripitaka, it is widely believed that this Buddha Jayanthi version is the most authentic version of Tripitaka in Sinhala as it was meticulously translated by a prominent team of scholars majjyima the sangha community in Sri Lanka.

While the latter is very complete and accurate, it is regarded by most native speakers as difficult to read, and, in addition, at the time there was no digital text that I could find. History reveals that the Tripitaka was coordinated at the First Council of the Maha Sangha soon after the parinirvana passing away of Lord Buddha, in order to preserve his teachings which had been only memorized up to that moment.
I am very happy that this is in line with the original vision of AP de Zoysa, who sought to make the Dhamma available to the ordinary people. The last of three, Majuhima pitaka contains a detailed analysis of Buddhist teachings.
Obviously it would be desirable to publish digitally the revised, complete, and corrected text. But we needed the actual files from ainhala publisher. So what you find in this section awakens a deeper sense on life than other simply organized records.
AP de Zoysa was a leading left-wing intellectual and Buddhist scholar of the early-mid 20th century. Vinaya Pitaka Out of the three pitakas, this is the area that deals with rules and regulations that are meant for Buddhist bhikkus and bhikkunis monks and nuns.

Thanks so much, Ayya. It is now almost three years since my first approach to Kumari, and finally we can make this work available. This is published on metta. Due to this immediate action taken by the then Sangha, the purest version of Buddhist teaching was included into the Tripitaka, without letting any elements to be missed or altered with time. It contains the unmodified, true teachings of Lord Buddha in its actual context.
I made contact with Janaka of pitaka. However, this project was never finished. The Tripitaka is the most sacred scripture for Buddhists all over the world.
The digital library of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura gives the opportunity for keen readers of the Tripitaka to easily find the volumes online. But underlying each text and translation is an effort made by people to convey the Dhamma, openly and without limit. In these pdf files original Pali version of Tripitaka is located on the left and the Sinhala translation can be found on the right. This and other texts that Ayya is uploading now are the updated version of the AP de Zoysa translation.

As a final footnote to this story, I might add that, while the circumstances of this particular edition are specific, it is far from unusual.
