It’s origins, it’s use and examples of different forms. Meditation can get a bad rap. The last chapter before those that I found superfluous, however, is one addressing the question of whether one needs a teacher to learn meditation. So yeah it’s actually quite challenging to meditate because it’s an exercises in focus, and having to come back to the exercise at hand, wether that’s focusing on your breath or whatever else.

The bow covers ideas from most of if not all religious denominations that have made major contributions to meditation and through them the author discusses commonalities and their overall common goal. Basically, there are three types of meditative procedures for which one can mdditate teachers although determined individuals can find many sources to read and help with two of them – the path through emotion and the path through the intellect.
